How do I know if my lab needs a rehab or a rebuild?

That is the first thing the audit answers. Most underperforming labs do not need to be torn out; they need the real failure points found and fixed, in the workflow, the media, the sterile technique, or the training. We tell you straight which one it is before you spend on a rebuild.

Can you save lines that are already contaminated or HLVd-positive?

Often, yes. Where a line is worth saving, we re-initiate it through meristem culture to remove HLVd and contamination, and verify the result by qPCR. Where it is not, we tell you.

How long does a rehab take?

It depends on what is wrong. A contamination or workflow problem can turn around quickly; rebuilding clean stock from infected lines takes longer. We scope it on the consultation after the audit.

What if the problem turns out to be our staff, not the process?

Then we say so, and we fix it through retraining rather than blame. Most technique problems are training gaps, not bad hires: nobody showed them why a step matters, so the step drifts. Retraining against written SOPs fixes that far more reliably than replacing people.

Do we have to shut the lab down during a rehab?

Usually not. Most of the audit happens around your existing work, and fixes get staged so you keep producing while the failure points get corrected. Where a line is badly compromised we may pull it out of rotation, but a full stop is rare and we would tell you before it happened.

What if someone else built our lab?

That is a large share of the rehab work and it is not awkward. We audit what is there on its merits, keep what is working, and fix what is not. You do not need to have built with us for us to get the program running.

How do we stop it happening again?

By fixing the cause rather than the symptom, then writing it down. A contamination spike traced to a media batch or a technique gap gets corrected at the source, the SOP gets rewritten so the correction survives staff turnover, and the tracking stays in place so the next drift is visible early instead of at the next transfer.
