About

We help you build your lab, then hand you the keys.

Most cannabis consultants create dependency. You keep paying them, you keep buying their clones, you never learn to do it yourself. We took the opposite approach.

What we actually do

Design the lab. Guide the build. Train the team. Step back.

Collective Herb Consulting is a tissue culture consulting team that designs, builds, and launches in-house cannabis tissue culture labs for licensed commercial cultivators and MSOs, then supports them with software and training. From clean-room design to your first Gen-0 harvest, we guide the full build: lab design and layout, equipment sourcing, working with your contractors on construction, hands-on training, protocol development, and commissioning. We also recover contaminated or underperforming labs and optimize existing cultivation systems.

Every lab we help build comes with turnkey SOPs, contamination tracking, and a trained team ready to produce clean genetics independently. Every engagement is designed to make you self-sufficient. We design your lab, train your team, document every protocol, and then step back. You run it. You own it. You profit from it.

The deliverable

The lab we build.

Design the lab, guide the build, train your team, then hand you a finished, running tissue culture lab.

Founder and lead

Who's behind it.

3.5 years in, Collective Herb has grown from one operator into a team that designs, builds, and supports tissue culture labs coast to coast. David Stormzand is founder and lead; every client gets the whole bench, not a single consultant.

David started Collective Herb after 15+ years working inside commercial cannabis operations across California, Colorado, Oregon, and Michigan. He has been on the cultivation floor, in the tissue culture lab, and in the boardroom.

Before launching Collective Herb, David served as Director of Customer Success at one of the top cannabis tissue culture labs in the country. He oversaw 150+ client facility visits, led plant pathology testing, and worked directly with R&D and production teams. Before that, he helped launch Gold Flora's 20,000 square foot Southern California indoor facility and Curaleaf's first recreational operation, a 10,000 square foot build-out, and managed cultivation programs across California, Oregon, Colorado, and Michigan.

He has trained dozens of teams on sterile technique, micropropagation, and genetics banking. He knows what works at scale because he has done it at scale.

  • 15+ years commercial cannabis cultivation
  • 5+ years hands-on tissue culture
  • 150+ client facility visits
  • CA · CO · OR · MI · MD operations experience

Why it matters

The growers who control their genetics are the ones scaling profitably.

Clean genetics are not optional anymore. HLVd is everywhere, clone vendors are inconsistent, and mother rooms are expensive and vulnerable. The growers who control their own genetics pipeline are the ones scaling profitably. We help you become one of them.
